ALFA Creates Radical Success for RoyScot Trust

RoyScot Trust plc was CHP Consulting's first customer in 1990. Since then, the relationship has gone from strength to strength. The ALFA solution currently occupies a central position in the RoyScot Trust systems strategy.

In 1998, RoyScot Trust selected ALFA as their platform of choice and migrated the first part of their portfolio, going live in 1999. Clive Dobbs, Director of Operations and Credit, commented, "The new system is faster, provides more data and greater output and, even in the early days following conversion, was generally acknowledged to be better than expected."

The Suspense Processing module was developed to support RoyScot Trust's heavy duty accounts receivable requirements. The new module went into live operation alongside Asset Finance, Cash Book, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Treasury Management, Delinquency Management and Direct Debit.

RoyScot Trust were able to benefit immediately from the truly strategic platform that ALFA offers asset finance companies. New product-to-market times were greatly reduced, giving competitive advantage in new ventures, including Premium and Fee Funding, Vehicle Management and genuine, 'joined-up' electronic commerce. John Pollard, Director of Finance and IT, remarked, "With ALFA in place, we have a system geared to today's and tomorrow's business needs."

In January 2001, once the Royal Bank of Scotland's finance companies came to be managed as one group, CHP began implementing ALFA as an end-to-end solution for the Lombard Asset Finance Group. By the end of 2001, the migration of a number of Lombard legacy systems and the remainder of the RoyScot portfolio was complete, and the key Point of Sale module was implemented for the direct sales force.
